About Us
We originally started business in 1968 bartering and selling brickmaking machinery and we later registered the name of Lowcost Machinery Sales Ltd., which at the time, we detected a niche with concrete and calcium silica bricks when the clay brick manufacturers were under great strain in producing to meet the demand. Sadly, this lasted for only 7 to 8 years when foreign investors revised the designs and the business declined.
The company turned itself towards quarry equipment and waste handling equipment, the latter being started in the late nineteen fifties and early nineteen sixties when the joint owners were instrumental in providing boiler ash from dumps adjacent to development sites and motorways, supplies included furnace bottom ash, PFA and limestone ‘chatter’. Was this the start of RECYCLING as we know it today?
In 1997 Rodan Engineering Co Ltd., was acquired from Horst Hamp who retired to Australia having built up a good business supplying balers, compactors, shredders etc. We added in with our existing portfolio to project a dynamic mix of plant & machinery useful for any contractor.
Finally, Lowcost Machinery Sales Ltd., was sold in May 2005 and now works under another name as an independent member of a Netherlands Group leaving Rodan Engineering Co Ltd., to concentrate solely focused on new machinery, although occasionally secondhand machinery does raise its head.
